Peyton's Birthday

Peyton turned 3 on January 27th and we had a Diego party for him at the church on Saturday with his friends and family. Here he is perched at the top of my blow up slide/jumper thing. The kids love this toy...it has been a great investment!
He is "blockin" the slide...in other words, he is staking his territory...until someone came along and knocked him off!
Samantha and Summer take a turn on the bouncer and Samantha can't stay standing up! Peyton takes a break to eat some cake and ice cream...what's a birthday without these messy treats!
So that Peyton wouldn't have to eat alone of course, Samantha helps him out with some cake and ice cream...we would hate for any to go to waste!
Peyton had a Diego pinata full of candy, so the kids took turns taking a whack at it..Peyton went first...

Then Karcen took a turn with a little help from Deven...

After many hits and a few serious whacks from Lane and Klay, it was finally open and the frenzy began! Look at all of them trying to get some candy!

Of course there was no lack of presents... Peyton surveys one gift as mommy tells him who it's from...He got lots of toys, clothes and even some cash! He racked up!

Charlotte at Play

Last Friday we took a field trip to Charlotte at Play in Pineville again. Jeff and Lennie brought Samantha, Debbie brought Kensie and Walker, Jennifer brought Skylar, Cade and Jase and I had my crew! Here they are in the grocery store...Peyton and Zach are the checker and bagger and Samantha is apparently doing some shopping!Karcen and Peyton are taking a turn with their buggies...this is the cutest part of the whole place, I think!
Haila was trying to stand on the toy microwave and wash her hands. Climbing is Haila's favorite activity these days. Next we headed to the construction zone...Kensie is gearing up for safety first...Chad (Karcen's daddy) would be so proud.

Zach went straigh for the power tools...notice the goggles on the head not the eyes...just like a man!
Karcen is hammering so fast her hands are blurry; notice she is NOT wearing any safety gear...perhaps she missed the OSHA meeting? Peyton is very bravely holding her nails in place while Karcen hammers because she won't put down the circular saw for fear someone might take it! The post office area was new this time and my kids enjoyed it! They had pretend letters, post office puzzles, and a mailbox...very cute!
Haila is playing in the camping area...you can't really tell, but she has a steak "cooking" in a pot of vegetables...
Karcen has found her ride...a green "four wheeler" that is just her size...she wants to ride with Uncle Steve and Brittany she says.

This picture was taken in the veternarian center. Karcen and Peyton put themselves in the kennel where the animals were supposed to be. Who knew that I could just lock them up for fun? (Just kidding of course!) Haila is trying to open the top one to climb into of course!
I still say I need to find some warehouse space on this side of town and open one of these places!

Everyday Pictures - This is Our Life

So, this post is just random pictures of the kids being, well, kids....Sometimes, they're just cute being themselves. Here's Haila in the blocks tub, where she played more than with the blocks themselves, but whatever!

Zach was having trouble with his tower of blocks, so he's trying to hold it and build it at the same time...not so successfully, but at least he's having fun!

In a rare sharing moment for Peyton, he is "helping" Cheyenne build her tower. Two seconds after I snapped this one, they were fighting over the blocks again, but at least I captured a nice moment to share! (Note: Haila is still in the tub)

This picture of Samantha was taken at choir practice last week, just being the diva that she is. She has such a cute personality and very much the individual...I can't wait for her teenage years!

This is just a too cute outfit of Haila's, I just had to take a picture. I swear she could be a baby model...just too cute! This was taken on one of those crazy cold days where layers were a must!

There are no kids in these pictures taken last Thursday, because this was a crazy kind of snow with rain, sleet, and wet snow, but too wet to play outside...good for snow pictures, but not so good for playing in.This was the accumulation on the back porch rail...it looks impressive, but it didn't last long. We were supposed to get some more snow on Saturday, but the system fell apart and we did get some pretty snowflakes falling, but no accumulation (which was really sad because they were initially calling for 4 to 5 inches!)

Beach Pictures Again!

Jenny took some pictures with her camera at the aquarium...here are some of the kids "petting" the horseshoe crabs. Karcen's arm was a little short, so I had to "help" her reach down lower.
Cheyenne got up there to do it, but then changed her mind...

Suprisingly, Zach wasn't too scared, he touched it for a millisecond, long enough for a picture!

I finally got brave enough to pick one up so that Haila could touch it...she wanted to pull it up out of the water.

Peyton was so excited, he didn't even pull his sleeves up...he wasn't scared a bit!

Playground Fun

"Nannie Claus" bought the children a playground for Christmas this year. I was supposed to have put it together for the big reveal before our party. Well after two hours and only three pieces assembled, I surrendered! Zach and Cheyenne's dad and uncle came to my rescue and assembled it for me, in less time than I had worked on the 3 pieces I got. Whatever...it's put together, right? Well then it turned into the Antarctic around here and was too cold to go outside, so this week is the first time they have gotten to really enjoy it!

Here's Peyton "in the house" as he says.

Karcen is making her way to the big slide on one end of the playground.

Luckily this toy fits all sizes, including Haila who loves to crawl through the tunnel out the other side!

Cheyenne is perched at the top of the slide waiting to go...she keeps sliding down on her knees...sorry Amanda for the grass stains...at least she's having fun!

Zach has decided that he likes to slide head first and makes me dizzy going up and down over and over. He is almost the full length of this slide.

Hopefully this will be a toy they won't outgrow for a little while. They all seem to enjoy it, so it was money well spent!
